You are indeed a dedicated modeler of a specific time and place. I admire your dedication and skill. The structures will provide a great sense of time and place for your games. Please keep us posted! Cheers!

Beautiful work, MarkAMorin. I love the colors used on the terrain pieces, as well as the mini's.

With regards to the grass roof, which you applied The Dip to, I would suggest lightening up the yellow paint selected, by 2-3 shades. The Dip will really darken it. The acrylic paint dries with microscopic rough texture; this rough texture, captures small amounts of the urethane stain, which darkens the whole, considerably.

One other technique to try, is to paint the model with full-strength Pledge Floor Gloss: this is the base (acrylic) medium for mixing up Magic Wash, The Dip's kissing cousin. The Pledge Floor Gloss should fill in the microscopic roughness, leaving it more smooth; this will prevent the urethane stain from darkening the whole surface, as it will mostly collecti in the folds and recesses. Cheers!

Hey Sgt Slag (great name btw) I did dry brush with a few different yellows after I used the dip as I knew it would darken as you rightly stated. I'm not a big fan of the dip but I knew it would give some degree of varnish protection. Glad you liked these and I appreciate greatly your astute feedback!
