These are exciting times here at TMP!
First of all, someone must appreciate our recent changes, as website hits are up by an astonishing rate over the past seven weeks!
Week of March 13: 1,094,453 hits
Week of April 24: 1,610,384 hits
Work continues on the Link Directory – TMP link – as we harvest links daily that you have posted on the main TMP forum, and we also harvest older links regularly.
There are currently 1,269 illustrated links in the directory, and roughly 240 links not yet illustrated (screenshots).
As mentioned before, while you could go to the Links Directory to find specific links, the Directory also comes to you! Look in the left-hand column on most TMP pages to see suggested links relevant to the page you're on. For instance, if you're reading a discussion on the ACW boards, you'll see ACW links in the left-hand column.
If you post a link to the main forum and we use it, you'll receive a PM when the link is added to the Directory, and again when the screenshot/illustration is added.
I know that many of you have been enjoying receiving PMs from the staff editors as your links are processed. This has raised an interesting question: is there any way to 'tip' an editor for good service?
I know of no reason why this couldn't be done. Obviously, it would be better if the tip went directly to the staffer, rather than through TMP itself (incurring extra processing effort and transaction fees). It seems that a tip button could be added to staff editors' profile pages, linked directly to a PayPal account of their choice. We would need to add something to the FAQ setting some ground rules (i.e., you can't 'tip' Editor Gwen to let you out of the Dawghouse early!).
Your input is welcome. Have you seen a 'tip jar' implemented at other websites?
