Nice. Russian players should get them all! After all, a Russian army can never have enough guns! |

Outstanding! I've always wondered if manufacturers compensated for the gunner's base. A comparison like this would show you the detail necessary to make an informed decision! Can't wait for the French, British, Austrian… Also for the American Civil War, English Civil War… |

Looks like exchanging the Blue Moon and Essex barrels would make the pieces look more "to scale." A nice comparison, thanks. Jim |

In the end it was a bit frustrating that every gun had its positives and negatives. The Blue Moon is a nice big overall model, Essex seem to have the carriage shape about right from the side elevation, Warrior are just amazing value (63p) with little prep needed, AB is just, well AB, full of detail but I think the carriage shape is not quite right. It took me 30 years to end up with four manufacturers, not sure I will live long enough to do the French, British and Austrian ones !! : ) |

I have enough Russian guns, but excellent comparison I do have guns from many makers, the variety is a bit much to take but mostly in 12pdrs, so as there are 2 types of 12pdrs in every battery I broke them into short and long intact battery. |

Nice, but you left off my favorite – Old Glory! |

My Austrian guns are Old Glory and I'm a bit nervous about getting any others because while people vary in height and build, a 6pdr shouldn't (subject to genuine variations due to non-standard manufacture, which I'm sure was an issue). And a millimetre is an actual measurement so why can't figure scales be consistent . . . Aaaarrgghh! Luckily they have a 3pdr, 6pdr and 12pdr, plus a howitzer, so that probably covers my likely needs. But even then, the horse gun's trail was a different length to the foot trail (which I've ignored) and the cavalry gun (6pdr) didn't have the counterweight, which I have lopped off. I feel far more happy mixing infantry (and even cavalry if the horses are close enough) than artillery. Cheers, John |

Thanks everyone for the interest, I would have liked to include Old Glory but just didn't have any in my pile! The mixing is sometimes part of the enjoyment, to see how far you can go and get away with it!! : ) |
