We've been working on the high road at the southern end of Plancenoit. This long ribbon of houses was fought up by the 25th Line, previously known as the Lutzow Freikorps. In defence, elements of the 1st Chasseurs of the Old Guard, hitherto held at Le Caillou desperately tried to defend this end of the village.

The troops are in production so not yet visible, but it has been fun to set the scene with the buildings, all constructed by my father, and to build the scenery.

Hope you enjoy!

Fantastic looking model.

Thanks all, it's 1/72. This is the Plancenoit section but in time it will be the whole battlefield. Hougoumont, La Belle Alliance, La Haie Sainte and Papelotte are already done.

We expect the modelling standard by now….but I can appreciate the photography. That depth of focus is not easily achieved on something this size and indoors.

How have you both convinced the distaff side of your families to accommodate this massive construction? 'er indoors at my end just loves posting my Prussian cavalry off to James. They are not then cluttering the study (like my 2eme DB in 1/72) or filling the attic with 28mm in plastic boxes (VN and Napoleonic)

The ingredients of success are threefold: wife in full-time work; wife bribed with various gifts; acceptance of wife's demand that I move model plus army to shed. Wife purports to have zero interest in my project, but beneath a veneer of profound contempt is actually pretty good about it all. She must still like me.
