I know that the Stars and Stripes should be flown on the right facing forward (position of honour) and Regimental or State flag on the left facing forward for Union forces. Is there a similar protocol for Confederate units who may carry more than one flag? |

Would certainly think the Confederates carried over the US tradition on such things. |

R E Lee discouraged carrying any flag other than the ANV battle flag. Most of the illustrations showing the various national flags appear to show them carried on the right of, for example, a state flag. I don't know if there was a regulation, but it seems reasonable that the pre-war practice would carry over to the CSA practice. |

No idea. I would recommend to follow the practice John recommends. I usually base my figures with one per Confederate and Union command base. Just to make it easier. But if you feel the need, I'd go with one ANV flag on the right and one "special" flag on the left. Eric |

If a unit flew a Confederate national flag (Stars & Bars, probably) and another flag, it would make sense to fly the national flag to the right of the second one. But would an "army" flag take precedence over a state flag? |

In whatever position it may be the cross makes an excellent target for Union artillery! |
