Could be straight out of the village of Hassenhausen! I was there in Summer of 1998 and there were still some buildings that looked like this. |

How nice to see a link to a French product and site. Because of my interest in 2eme DB I ma increasingly involved with French language fora. They are very welcoming, there seems less of the acrimony that we often see here and they are very skilled modellers. Great find. |

Actually those are Heljan models from the 70's… railway scenic pieces as I made some myself (since sold) HO scale.. makes an interesting aspect of 'copying' doesnt it? |

Excellent…so more expenses. |

Heljan? Are they still around? |

Those are beautiful. I did not check postage to the US, but that is generally the killer on anything from continental Europe. Tom |

Available (and ordered) these recent series are all light. Last year I had the 1814 and a German plus a few Spanish. Some went painted on my site. |

Hello Garryowen I recently bought 14 buildings. The airmail postage to Australia was about 43 Euros. I assume that it would be cheaper to the US. The buildings are quite light (ie they are not made from a heavy resin and the walls are relatively thin). Regards |

Heljan is long gone; their moulds were bought by someone, possibly chinese, who issued a number, or was it Kibri?, for a few years, but they all disappeared again… till now… |

At least in the Netherlands you can buy Heljan kits so not long gone, simply google heljan modelling. And are you sure they are copying? |

Thanks Aussie Andy. You let me and a friend join your dinner table as you were about to leave at The Host when it was crowded some years ago. Enjoyed speaking with you and think of it every time I see you post here. Tom |

I remember that Tom. That's why I said hello specifically. I was meant to attend Fall In last year, but you know what happened. I'd had some false starts before that which were knocked on the head by health issues, but last year I had the tickets and was set to go. |

I've just finished painting five of the Spanish buildings. Even with my very limited painting talents, they look great. I'd post pictures if I wasn't technologically illiterate. I'm very pleased with these products and looking forward to painting more. |

I like the looks of these models and the painter certainly did a bang-up job to boot! So they are 15mm – 20mm scale? That is about the size I like for the model houses I make. For Napoleonic, I have a few Monday Knight houses but have not (as yet) made any buildings specifically for that period. I did notice a couple of the houses from Decors look similar to Monday Knight Austrian houses. I think that many houses of this period in Austria had a similar design. I was especially interested in the thatched roof houses. I need to design and make some thatched village houses for the 17th Century. |
