what are others thoughts on using the later DoW style/ uniformed models for the early versions of Italo/Polish legions etc from '96 to 1800?
Can the details be painted over sufficiently to make acceptable looking units?
thanks dave

Hi Dave,
see
I SOLDATI DEL PRIMO TRICOLORE ITALIANO
Autore: Valerio Gibellini
edito da Rivista Militare nel 1989
link
In particular see pages 120-121 and 202 to 204 for the Polish legion uniforms.

May need to do some filing to remove peaks of the Czapkas for the very early period – also how they were worn appears slightly different i.e. square on the head rather than a corner above the forehead…

Have to kill my ad-blockers or all I see is site graphics!

Certainly a very comprehensive book with broad coverage of topics well over the years at hand; though at a glance I can see they've followed the Orspray method of conflagration- completely inane captions (in some places) nothing to do the object being illustrated.

Having said that a worthy work and evidence (documentation) in support.
cheers dave

@Dave,
Very strange as I have no issues using an adblocker for the site (admittedly mine is integrated into my antivirus software).
