"Minefields in v4 are quite different from v3. They are no longer rectangular 20cm x 5cm, but instead marked with a 2cm wide token and anywhere within 5cm of that token is the minefield. This requires that you constantly measure to determine if you are in- or out-side the minefield. Some players, including me, find that a little annoying and also less pleasing to the eye, than a piece of terrain…."

The form fitting base is excellent. Is measurement uncertainty and estimation a feature of the rules? I don't play FOW so just asking. I'm wondering if the designers intended for players to sometimes mis-estimate and thereby contact the minefield, or to overcompensate when avoiding so sometimes the minefield will have a greater effect on gameplay than its actual contact radius. |

the minefield will have a greater effect on gameplay than its actual contact radius. Yes, A2/AD … whether in a game of RL, minefields and obstacles can channelize the OPFOR into kill zones, impassable terrain, etc. Even have played games with FA or air dropped scatterable mines. Even dropped them on enemy positions … |
