I am picking up my 2nd edition Zombicide tomorrow and I am watching unboxing vids on YouTube.
All the original characters like Wanda, Amy, Ned, etc, have survived but what happened to Phil the Cop? He is notable by his absence and he was one of my favourites from first edition.
Any ideas about his disappearance?

Maybe he was defunded.

Col Durnford, that's funny and chilling at the same time….

The Colonel for the win!

Maybe he was pulled because he resembled a celebrity that objected? (I can't recall any actor that looks like the figure, so take my comment with a grain of salt… ;-)

I note the new 'Reboot' set of extra figures and weapons includes artwork for characters which closely resemble Liam Neeson, Sean Connery, Steven Seagal, Ian McShane as Al Swearengen and HM The Queen! 'Her Madge' even carries a Minigun and has a special ability to give orders so I don't think celebrity resemblance is an issue.

I just wondered! Why was he removed?

I picked up the Second Edition today from Zatu Games in Norwich for a good price. The rules have changed a little but so far all changes seem to make sense and improve the game. For example, when you boot the door of a building, zombies no longer swarm in all rooms. Now they only swarm in the 'darkened' rooms (about half) but in greater numbers.
There are now also four Abominations with different powers but only one can be in play at any time.
Also Molotov cocktails and the sniper scope/rifle are no longer two cards which need to be combined. Molotovs are now found ready-made so no seating for bottles and a can of petrol.
Overall the figures are much crisper, really nice sculpts.
