Cross posted on PMCD Mobilisatie: I ran a Culloden game at my club (outdoors and all wearing masks) last Saturday. It was one day off from the 275th anniversary of battle. I was in a quandary as to which rules to use as, in the real battle, the odds were strongly stacked against the Jacobites. So I decided to try Howard Whitehouse's A Gentleman's War (AGW) because the card activation mechanic makes for greater uncertainty, which can be infuriating at times if one is used to more predictable game progression. As it turned out, between the card draws and very poor dice rolling by one of the Government players, the day was won by the Jacobites.

What brands of figures dis you use? Nice looking game.

Der Alte Fritz, the Highlanders are 90% Replicants with a few CHERILEA mixed in. Replicants also made the Billy the Butcher and Prince Charlie figures. They also make historically accurate Government infantry that are in my painting queue. Cavalry is a combination of AIP and Replicants. Government infantry are a combination of AIP and A Call to Arms. I hope to replace the AWI figures with the Replicants eventually. Finally, I picked up some of the painted Garibaldi metal French and Indian War redcoats and Black Watch.

Some great conversions in your Highland force. Are those Engineer Basevich Caucasian warriors converted to Highlanders in the unit overrunning the field gun I see?
