I use MS Paint quite a lot, to do deployment maps and the like, and it's normally fine but, it's limited because it only allows images within it to be rotated through angles of 90 degrees (90, 180, 270, etc.). I'm not that tech savvy but it looks like that is the limit of what MS Paint can do in this respect.

Therefore, I have a problem because now I want to rotate an image within a hexagon – I want to rotate an image through angles of 60 degrees (60, 120, 180, 240, etc.). The pictures thus created will be used as explanatory diagrams in a set of rules I'm writing for ancient naval warfare.

Please, can someone tech savvy point me in the direction of, a relatively easy to use, software package that will allow me to draw in a similar fashion to MS Paint but that can manipulate images more freely.

Thanks for looking,

James

OpenOffice Draw allows the rotation of images to whatever angle you want.

Not super complex, but definitely a step up from paint.
