An absolute treasure trove of information on the Battle of Antietam (Sharpsburg)is available here: antietam.aotw.org/index.php

Packed full of features and articles covering maps, first hand reports, weapons etc. A great site to dip into to see what you can find. The thirteen battle maps in particular are ideal if you want to set up a scenario based around part of the battle: link

The site also has an excellent, clickable order of battle for both sides down to regimental level: antietam.aotw.org/oob.php

Once you get down to regimental levels on the orbats you can find details and even photos of the men who fought in these regiments.

Well worth a look.
