To be honest, I play 1/87 scale tanks (resin and/or ROCO) with FOW figures. It seems like the FOW tanks are too small compared to the men. The troops look like they are 7 feet tall!

I agree. I also use 15mm figures with 1/87th (HO) vehicles. Many manufacturers' figures are often larger than their "scale." On the other hand, I still had a large HO collection from the 1970's and later, and wanted more accurate late war figures (than Airfix) and a wide range of support weapons to go with them.
On the other end of the scale, I always felt that 20mm figures were too large to be a good match for my HO vehicles.

I use Old Glory/Skytrex figures with Battlefront vehicles and they appear to work just fine. I don't know if its the sculpting or the manufacturing process but Battlefront figures seem to have suffered from scale creep when they switched from metal to plastic/resin.

Does this help?

What we call 20mm these days is usually 24-25mm. Remember, HO and OO are scales with an associated track gauge, but HO/OO is just a track gauge, NOT a scale!

Are you accounting for FOW's thick bases? Their figures gain about a scale foot of height just from the bases. And then they get glued to yet another base!

If you base your vehicles too then it compensates for the thick bases pretty much all 15mm figures are cast with.

According to one of BF's scuplters , that has be accounted for . BF's figures vary in size , depending on the sculpter .

Actually, HO/OO is a scale. HO models are built to 1:87th scale. … HO trains run on a 16.5mm gauge track. OO scale is generally only used for models of British prototype. OO describes models with a scale of 4 mm = 1 foot (1:76) running on HO scale 1:87 (3.5 mm = 1 foot).

Soooo, a six foot figure in HO scale is 21mm tall, while in OO scale a six foot figure is 24mm tall.

Their hard Plastic German's are right on as I put a standing figure next to one of their plastic Panther's and the helmet just barely rises above the hull top. That is also with a thin metal base and the plastic base from the figure. Their latest soft plastic figures are monsters compared to the hard plastic figures

Thanks for your answers! By the way, I use size 8 washers for my troops.

Laser Grenadier: which manufacturers make 15mm that seem to fit with 1/87?.i.e. which ones are closer to 18mm I tried some Flames of War but they seemed to small compared to my ROCO.
