Does anyone know where one can find information on this obscure subject? I am especially interested in the Silesian Regts. |

GMB Designs sells several 25mm flags for landwehr. Beautiful but expensive. Have you tried Warflag? |

The Altmark book on the Prussian Army (which is unfortunately out of print) has a small section on landwehr flags. There are also two Ospreys about Napoleonic flags and one of them discusses possible landwehr flags. The challenge is that the landwehr were not authorized flags until after 1815. But some of them carried "homemade" ones anyway. I don't know how accurate you like to be, but I'm not all that worried about accuracy when it comes to certain aspects of my wargaming armies. Flags is one of them. I like to make sure all my line units have flags even if I have to use some that are just mere probables. I've been using the Prussian flags on the warflag.com web site for almost all my 1813 forces. Jim |

It is often quoted that some Silesian regiments carried flags bearing the arms of Silesia – then described as being a sky blue field with a spread eagle in checked red & white
however, those are the arms of Moravia! The arms of Silesia were a black spread eagle on a yellow field (hence the yellow provincial colour). |
