I did a piece on this once and worked out that out of 67,000 (rough estimate) in the Allied army circa 9,000 were English. Scots and Irish combined, equalled or exceeded that number. The majority were German (and that excludes the Prussians). German victory? It has been claimed!

eh? Where did you get that figure from? I've listed every British combatant at Waterloo and the number is around 30,000.

Size of the armies at the Battle of Waterloo: 23,000 British troops with 44,000 allied troops and 160 guns against 74,000 French troops and 250 guns.
