It's been a while since I've posted a 1/600th scale, metal aircraft miniatures want list, so it is time to revisit it again. Since my last posting, some on my want lists have actually been created. I'm hoping this will once again spur one or more manufacturers to produce at least some of the minis on my list in metal.

I know some can be found in printed resin, on Shapeways, but they can be very fragile, to the point of being questionable for use for anything other than display minis, hence my desire for more robust ones cast in metal, for tabletop gaming.

Feel free to chime in to this post, if you want some of the same ones I do, or if you want some others not included on the list. The more people that demonstrate an interest in them, the more likely they will be produced by someone in the near future.

Here's my list – those with the * after them are especially needed immediately:

Saab Tunnan *
Saab Lansen

F-89 Scorpion *
F-101 Voodoo interceptor *
F-101 Voodoo recon variant
F-108 Mach 3+ escort fighter for the XB-70 bomber *
F-15E
F-18E Super Hornet (larger model of the F-18)
F-18F Super Hornet – as above, two-seater model *
YF-23 Stealth fighter
P-3C Orion ASW patrol aircraft *
P-8 Poseidon ASW patrol aircraft *
B-58 Hustler *
XB-70 Mach 3+ bomber *
Hound Dog cruise missile *

Avro Arrow Cold War interceptor *

Mig-31 interceptor *
Su-9 interceptor
Su-11 interceptor *
Su-57 Stealth fighter *
Tu-28/Tu-128 Fiddler Cold War interceptor *
Tu-160 Blackjack bomber *
Yak-28 Brewer bomber
Yak-28P Firebar interceptor with AA-3 air-to-air missiles *
Yak-38 Forger VSTOL jet

Shenyang J-8II fighter (upgraded Mig-21 variant) *
Shenyang J-31/J-35 Stealth fighter (FC-31 – looks like a twin-engine F-35) *
JF-17 Thunder (China/Pakistan)

SA-3 SAM (flying) and missiles on launcher too *
SA-5 SAM (flying) and on launcher too *

BOMARC SAM (flying) and missile on launcher too *
HAWK SAM and radar – as above *
Nike Ajax SAM – as above *
Nike Hercules SAM – as above *
Nike Zeus SAM

I'm sure I've left some others off the list, so will update as necessary.

I hope someone will produce at least some of the above soon. The SAMs are especially needed now, in addition to many of the other listed models.

I should have double-checked the Pico Armor website before posting, since I hadn't checked that in a while.

I see now that the following are available in metal from them:

F-15E
F-18 Super Hornet (don't know if it is the single-seater, or the two-seater model)
B-58 Hustler

I'd like to see the Victor bomber too.

F-105G two-seat, Wild Weasel
US Navy A-12 bomber -stealth, flying wing – cancelled

Soviet Bison bomber

A Yak 38 would be handy.

I'd also like a Tucano

For the Yak-38 you can probably just use a wad of cotton painted black and orange to look like a fireball.

:)

Soviet Bison bomber
Soviet/Russian AWACS

U-2 spyplane
American AWACS

Japanese Kawasaki P-1 ASW plane
Japanese Shin Meiwa US-1A ASW/SAR float plane

Chinese Y-8GX6 (Y-8Q) ASW plane
Chinese AWACS

For me, I'd like some transport aircraft. Ideally some Soviet transports like the AN-24 – I play mostly campaigns so they can feature in scenarios where they need to be protected.
