I have a division of Red Army, at 1 base=platoon, West Germans and Dutch (my first army from 1989!) in 1:300. What do rules do you recommend. I have Spearhead, and I don't like Cold War Commander (or xxC in general). I'm looking for something for reasonably high level. Is SH the best there is going to be? I don't want to much faff – I want battalion and company commanders to be doing their job, not me having to count individual MG rounds. |

I'm not sure if it is available in the UK, but a board game company call Lock N' Load publishes a game call World at War 85. It is a really great game and is at the level you are looking for. One of the expansions converts the hex board game to a miniatures game. link |

Modern Spearhead is the best I have found for large scale actions. For smaller more tactical games I would recommend FFT3 or Command Decision IV with the modern charts. FFT will give you a better game with lots of tanks. CDIV is better for a more infantry heavy action. Both however are excellent. Joe Collins |

Fistful of Tows 3 is a good choice. |
