It was a gnome-less week painting-wise, at least for completed figures. Lots of paint touched lead/metal/plastic, but only "The Crew" got finished. link

I've spent most of the week fooling around with Planet 28, a 'zine-style set of sci-fi skirmish rules that I've supported through Kickstarter and have learned to appreciate its 14-page rules (plus two small supplements for vehicles and campaign play). I did manage to stat out most of the Gnomish Space Marines (as base troop types, not special characters). link I'll stat out "The Crew" over the weekend for a post next week. Hopefully some games are in the future… |

One thing I do not understand in the rules is the 1D6 change to movement due to the slow / fast traits. Each 'being' has a base move of 10cm and the trait alters this by up to 6cm each turn BUT are you expected to roll each move or just once for the trait and the result is the standard move for that being each and every move??? The fixed move makes life simple with less rolls BUT the random version could add a measure of fun and frustration :-) |

I'm definitely thinking it's separate random rolls to affect each movement. Slow is not a trait I would take willy-nilly, definitely for the space dwarves and peg-leg pirates on the table. I have some holiday games this weekend, to use the rules, I'll fiddle around with things a bit and report back. |
