I am collecting and painting 1/72 plastic figures for the 1st Carlist War (lots of conversions) and it's time to base them. I will be using the Black Powder rules. Reading the Osprey about the period, it says that the Carlists largely used skirmish formations, but when I look at photos of other people's games, that does not seem to be the case. Are people making any adjustments to model the skirmish formations, or is that just ignored? As I understand it, the Carlists were able to stay in close formation and trade volleys, but only in the later stages of the war.

I'm really looking forward to see your conversions (I toyed with that same idea many moons ago)

Cheers
