I played AWI decades ago & really enjoyed it. My personal English Officer was Lord Fairmount who raised a unit of Tory scum called "Fairmount's Felons. I had a unit of British regulars & 1 of Continental line & some militia & a few Indians so I could play either side & loan troops if needed. Like the ECW & ACW some players were very partisan & would only play one side.

Well my Tory I posted is a rebuke at Mel's Gibson Patriot which colorful as a movie really sucks historically* the ruined mansion of the final battle scene makes no sense and is out of place considering the otherwise rural landscape and the political correctness of the film pretty much ruins a important chapter of history. Did Fairmount survive and found a Hotel chain? or did he fall down in a rum laded stupor after the war ending his days begging on the streets of London.

I was tempted by the PP line, but I have too much on my plate.

Peter Pig is nice luv their cavalry it is nice line I'm almost done with my AWI collection British, Continental, Hessian/Brunswick and the French lets see 50 Generals 105 infantry battalions 16 figs each 19 batteries of artillery and 8 regiments 10 figures each of cavalry and 13 supply wagons and carts. Moving on to either finish my Mexican War stuff or start the War of 1812 stuff and building my New Orleans board.

Fairmount retired to the Bahamas & began distilling rum which he probably did sample too often, but he was just maintaining quality control.

Ah just like Good ole Captain Morgan Jamaican rum has ruined many a manly man
