Hi. I am starting to pull together 28mm figures for 1930's Pulp adventure gaming. So far during lockdown we have been playing Savage Worlds RPG online using Discord. But when Covid restrictions are eased I am hoping we can resume at gaming club with miniatures and terrain.
For players character's adventurers, sidekicks, contacts etc I have got ten packs together of Bob Murch's marvellous Pul Figures range, mainly his PHP Heroes and Personalities packs.
Painted excellently by Matt Slade from Glenbrook Games Painting Service. I will try and share when some pictures when I have a moment.
What I am wanting to do next is use some of awesome Perry Miniatures 28mm plastics to fill out opposing hordes of nameless minions for our plucky player character guys and gals to face off against. So far my friend is running the four of us through Egyptians catacombs. Great fun!!
Our Pulp RPG campaign is set in 1930's.
One of the first Perry Miniatures 28mm plastics was Mahdist Ansar – these are described as Sudanese Tribesmen 1881-1885.
My question is how suitable would these to represent 1930's Sudanese tribes?? And if so, are their particular options in the box I should go for and/or avoid?
I gather 8 fihures per box set come with a gun (I presume two per sprue). Tha would still leave the bulk of the figures in the box with spear or spear and shield. I fugured they could still well represent rural tribes or cultists.
I don't know much about 1930's Sudan, so I have no idea if these would work in the context of a Pulp adventures game.
Thanks
James
