I just posted my long delayed cornfield revamp project as I am getting ready to start my AWI Southern Campaign I've been revamping my long overdue terrain stash off well worn trees(30 years service) my fields, fences and water projects. Here's a couple pics and a link to my blog chuckazulu.blogspot.com

Super terrain revamp, and enjoyed seeing your AWI figs in the thick of it too!

Interesting aside, corn was not planted in rows until after the ACW. It was sown like wheat. This made moving troops thru cornfields more difficult than one would suppose. |

This may be of interest. TMP link My research explains that the seeds where laid in a checkerboard pattern with lanes to facilitate weeding and harvesting. As a gardener this makes perfect sense. Best wishes, Chris |
