Progress so far after a year of researching (with a big shout to many of the forum members for their contribution of knowledge), sculpting and re-sculpting (basically learning how to sculpt, with thanks to George from Medousa Creations for all the tips and advice and inspiration)

I have one urgent question for the moment about the shabraque for officers:

In the Osprey Men at Arms issue number 064 you can read; Saddle cloth is edged in silver lace, but for campaign it is with a 40mm wide strip of light blue goat`s hair about the edge, both devoid of silver grenade devices. Can anyone shed clarity on this?

Most impressive sculpting! I particularly like Blancard and his aide. What is your intent with the sculpts?

It can be seen on a Carle Vernet plate about the Bardin regulation of 1812, same for Dragoons, lace here however in green.
The hue is matching the colour of the saddle cloth.

I cannot say if and when this was realized.

The Vernet plates – are online somewhere and otherwise there is a nice book about them from Musée de l'Armée in Paris

Excellent conversions. I look at my own Perry figures and wonder….

One thing though, there seems to be a figure with a slung trumpet but wearing a cuirass. Unless there is a story attached to this, trumpeters did not wear the cuirass neither in the carabiniers nor the cuirassier regiments.

Much debate about the dress of the trumpeter, surtenly during the 100 day campaign.
Have a look at this topic:

@IronDuke596

I will try my best to paint them, base them and take a photograph. After that they will end up in a cabinet. I`m not gaming, for me the fun is research, collect the figures, convert them if necessary and paint them up as historically correct as possible. Thats why this forum is so good.

Interesting. Just goes to show that you can never be certain. (The red coated carabinier trumpeter from 1810 in a cuirass and bearskin was probably a transition uniform until the new uniform was totally issued.) However, my humble opinion is that trumpeters would be unarmoured following the medieval tradition of heralds not wearing armour.
