Just to tell you that Braillestrike has revised its decals for the 501eme RCC en Paris August 1944 to show lettering and numbers in Green not blue. Now this is controversial (was it just 1st and 2nd companies?) and I think blue looks better. Snag is the evidence favours green for all. But not the bright green of Heller or Star Decals. The testimony says "Khaki". Braillestrike seems to have done this. Every 501RCC M4A2 etc that I have I will now have to redo. Never mind. I do want First in Paris also, which will mean two more M4A2s (that means 10 Shermans now for me)

And adding to the temptation I see they now offer their decals in 1/35th scale as well. Eyeing my stash of 1/35th scale Shermans. |

How I wish I had "a stash" of 1/35 Shermans. I have one M10 and an M8 A/C from Tamiya since Christmas, sitting in boxes. I have some Star Decals which are only for Shermans but I am blowed (wonder how that translates across the Pond, but over here it is perfectly acceptable to say) if I can find an M4A2, with the small hatches needed, in 1/35th. |

Well not to tempt you but Dragon makes a Sherman III early and mid war and their M4A2 Tarawa kit are all small hatch. Tiger model designs makes a plethora of add ons and corrections for a number of kits to include Shermans. For example they have the proper engine deck grills, complete with fuel caps, to correct the Dragon DML kits. And Formations Models out of Canada also has lots of add on goodies for 1/35 kits to include the Sherman. Given what you accomplish with 1/72nd I am eager to see your 1/35th scale efforts! |

I nearly missed your reply. How few folk go to the WWII Painting Message Board? What is it with Dragon? I thought they had gone bust and folk just had old stock to sell on. I got one M4 A3 105 from someone in France pre Brexit (just try now) in 1/72. No bout adowt it, Dragon beat the rest hands down. I can find a direct vision M4A1 in 1/35 (2eme DB got a few very late in the war upgraded, but they had been covered over). I can find a Composite or a large hatch M4A2 from Zvezda The new Chinese company..starts with an A….(Asuka, sounds Japanese actually) are they the same models? I must resist 1/35. That way lies madness.

Dragon Models is still going strong and I get regular updates on new releases from Dragon Models USA. One of their latest, for example, is a new release of an early Tiger I for Tunisia in 1/72nd. For some reason they do let production of some of their kits lapse. |

That is great news. I totally had the conviction they had gone under. I need no convincing they are the best on the market, however pricey. Yes, thanks for that |
