Hello, I am doing a project in miniatures of 70 mm (I know, it is not the usual thing) it is about a Dutch regiment that participated in the battle of Almansa in 1707. The regiment is L'Isle Marais. I would need a picture of the regiment's flags to be able to enlarge and retouch them. I am aware that this flag is for sale online in 28mm but after contacting a couple of stores, they have told me that they cannot make them in 70mm, therefore, I will have to make them myself or at least try but I would need a scaned of them to work. If someone has this flag and want to shar, let me know.

Thank you in advance!

i have a picture of the flag "speculative by Kuhn" from the Robert Hall CD Uniforms and Flags of the Dutch Army and the army of Liege 1685-1715, if you want me to send you a copy the CD is available from Baccus

How are apparent breaches of copyright like this ok on TMP?

draig goch ddig13 Mar 2021 3:57 a.m. PST

Really !, so if you show someone a picture in a book its a breech of copyright, get a life you sad individual

AussieAndy: At no time have I asked for the entire document, I have only asked for help to identify some flags, specifically the most urgent is that of the L'Isle Marais regiment.
What's more, considering that I have to make the flags for 70mm miniatures, I will have to rework all the flags to get a good result.

Still, I appreciate your impetus in advocating for copyright.

draig goch ddig, I'm assuming that you've never produced any intellectual property worth stealing or you might have some appreciation of what it feels like to have your work stolen. The way you immediately resort to personal abuse is also instructive. In any event, I'd rather to be a "sad individual" than a copyright thief. By the way, I already have an excellent life.

Gentlemen, a single copy for personal use and not for profit is not considered a copyright violation. Violations usually start when copying substantial portions ( usually 25 percent) of an article or a book chapter. In scholarship the limit is more stringent—you must cite everything. Copying a flag for your personal tabletop (and not for mass sales) is perfectly acceptable.

Legionarius is correct; the instance indicated in this thread is legal under fair use doctrine
