Here are a couple pictures of my 1/285th scale Egyptian T-54s and T-55s for the Six Day War of 1967 and Yom Kippur War of 1973. The models are by GHQ.

Very nice.

Very nice.

Amazing the difference a wash makes on a plain coloured surface.

Those are wonderful. GHQ do make amazingly detailed and accurate models.
Is that an ink wash you used? Whatever it is, it's very well done.

Nice job. I, too, am curious about how you washed/inked the models.

Thank you all very much!

For my Egyptian vehicles, I used Humbrol #103 Cream as the base coat with some #34 Matt White added to lighten for scale.

The wash is an old school, turpentine based dark brown wash. This was the original GHQ formula for making the vehicles "pop". My only change to their suggestion, is to go over the vehicle with clear turpentine to make sure the wash is settled into the crevices and isn't riding on the main surfaces. I also do some subtle highlighting once the wash process is completed.

They look amazing, Captain Pete!

Thanks very much, Raynman! Here is another picture of one of my T-55s

Ditto the above comments, simply terrific looking models. Is there a formula/specific suggestion for the wash? Could not find it in my old GHQ catalogues and such.
