received some victrix 12mm plastic tanks and was wondering what glue is best to use to assemble them, never ever assembled a plastic kit before

I don't use glue but a plastic weld. Right now I use Plastic Struc plastic weld. Tenex 7R which was even better, but ceased production is back on the market as Styrene Tack-It II. Get it if you can find it. Virtually instant bond with no drying time, and the liquid is not sticky in itself. I do advise putting the bottle in a cup or mug to keep from accidently knocking over…as I have!

Yes, Victrix plastics are not styrene, so use a weld glue. I use Plastruct Bondene and Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. The Tamiya glue is in a short square bottle, but the Plastruct always wants to spill.
Cup idea is great!
