I got my hands on a set of these for a review. Great looking figures at a great price. More here link

Thanks for the pics. Can you elaborate on what is the limitation that keeps the figures-per-box to 20? It appears that each sprue has 5 front and rear torsos (plus more than 5 sets of legs, arms, and heads), so if there are 8 identical sprues then one would expect the box to produce 40 figures, not 20. What am I missing from the photos?

Eumelus,

What you can't see from the photo is that I am occasionally an idiot. I got all three of the Wargames Atlantic kits on the same day and wrote the reviews one after the other; the French Resistance and 95th Rifles have eight sprues, the Eisenkern have four. Thanks for pointing that out, the blog post has been corrected

Many thanks for the review.

So there aren't enough Jin-Roh style heads to avoid those Feldmutzen?

Is there much difference to the original versions?

gregmita209 Mar 2021 3:25 p.m. PST

Arjuna,
From the pictures, there are at least 9 helmeted heads on each sprue of 5 bodies, so that should be enough.
I have the original version of these storm troopers, and that box also had more helmet heads than bodies.

@gregmita2

Thanks for the reminder to pay more attention to details.
thumbs up
I have to take off the optivisor next time.
It blurs the sight to the screen…

"Is there much difference to the original versions?"

From what I've read, the new versions are smaller than the original…

WA has a comparison photo on their page.

That comparison shot must be wrong, perhaps using some printed prototype. The WA are around 10% smaller then the original Dreamforge. Usable in the same unit, but not for parts on the same mini. I will dig out some of the orginals and make a photo tomorrow…

Interesting…
Yes, Puster, please put up photos when you can. I'm curious how much of a real difference there is. That can affect my decision whether to get the new boxes.

Sorry, a bit late, but life sometimes interferes with the important stuff. Sorry (again) for the quality, just had my handy ready and its too cold to take these outside for proper lighting.

Though WA are slightly smaller and the edges are a bit more rounded then with the original Dreamforge imho the differnce is only there if you look for it.

Just note that the backpacks leave a small gap when applied though glue and some pressure (a clamp until the glue sets) solves that problem.

If AW releases more Eisenkern, I will gladly buy these sets, too.

Thank you Puster. Your photos are perfectly fine.
The size difference actually doesn't look too bad, but WA probably manipulated the angle of their photograph to make it look like there is no size difference. A bit of unnecessary dishonesty I think.
The two models can serve well as different marks of the same type of armour.
