I will be running a 54mm Alamo game at my club next week. Too bad it couldn't coincide with the 185th anniversary today. I know my model is not 100% accurate and I had to lose the low east wall for the sake of space. As it is, the game table is going to have to be 10 X 8 feet to allow for even a small area of the ground for the Mexicans to advance over. The 350 Mexican figures are patiently waiting in their boxes for next week.

Very nice!
Put the Mexicans on rolling tables. Put them about the middle. Have the rolling tables about 5' away. Then, whatever their movement rate is, say 12", move the tables forward 12". It'll give your artillery time to fire.
Then when the rolling tables touch the fort table, move normally.
cheers!

Looks great…I am jealous of those who will be playing. I like the rolling table suggestion by d88. What an amazing convention spectacle that would make.

d88mm1940, great idea! I will see how many tea trolleys I can line up.

Excellent!!!

What rules are you using?
And can you take some in game close up photos for us?

WarWizard, thanks! I'll be using the "Come and Take It!" rules published in the Courier Vol IX, No 5. I have run the game in 25/28mm several times in the past in that scale. I am hoping that they will work just as well in the larger scale. Firing ranges are not a problem as they are unlimited. I am wondering about movement. I may increase it by 50%. I will be sure and post some photos of the game.

Superb! I love me some 54mm gaming… d88's idea on the rolling tables is really quite good! I may need to copy that idea for some of my Army Men games this Summer. Cheers!

Good choice of rules, Nick. There is a very heroic feel to those.

Very impressive.

NICK!!!!! Wow, my friend, your "UP-SCALE" gaming looks about to hit a new high note! That set-up is insanely cool! I only wish I was 5 hrs North of my present location so I could participate in any way whatsoever! Que viva, Mexico, Remember the Alamo, & I look forward to seeing and hearing a lot more in your AAR!
