Can't share your enthusiasm for plastic figures, too much faffing around in construction. I recognise the quality of the sculpting and the potential for conversion, but the few that I have (ECW) have proved too fragile for the rigours of the wargaming table. |

I really like these Atlantic Wargames set, but share your concern about the lack of poses. Currently building their Persians, and while their small sprue has five bodies and 17 (!) heads, the larger Victrix sprue just has four bodies and eight heads. But… Victris makes 6 different sprues. On the good side, AW mix well with Victrix or Perry minis. |

Nice set. Have them and the lizard folk on order. A lot of their stuff will kitbash with Perry. The Afghans seem to mix well. Gives a lot more options :) |

Looking forwards to the Prussian reservists, Tally Ho! |

Same with the French Resistance box. Good sculpting with lots of cuts. Will probably work well with Contrast Paints. Lots of weapon and head options (even a scarf option) but with only four body variations it might still get challenging to vary the mix to the level you'd like. 8 body options would have been much better with one kneeling pose. The box art shows a kneeling figure but isn't included as an option. Maybe Box #2. Overall I think it's still a good set. We'll see how they paint up. |

BTW, my favorite head in the Resistance Box is the one with a bowler. He got the Bren Gun. |

The review showed up on their website, too. WA is certainly responsive to the community. |

Interesting that no review I have read – anywhere – mentions the fact that the "marching at the trail" arm has the lock (ie the firing mechanism) on the Baker on the left/wrong side. I don't know what it is with WA, but they always seem to include a gaff in every set. The Great War British infantry have no entrenching tool in cover to hang across the buttocks as was normal practice – this despite getting loads of feedback from the initial 3D renders; the French and German sets both have enough officers to run a staff college. |
