I've only gotten into FOW and TY in 2017 so have only known the beveled bases with circular indentations.

At the last convention, I bought all the medium bases they had left. Too bad they didn't have any artillery bases left.
They're much easier to use plain when you have Peter Pig, Command Decision, QRF, etc.

If you don't like bases being visible, and you want to do something to make the bases less obvious, then the new-style bases are an improvement.

However, for whatever reason, I find that the indents still leave a gap around the figure base that's noticeable when flocked. So I still do some basework on them.

The height of the cast-on bases on metal figures can vary, meaning the cast-on bases can be taller than the indents.

The cast-on bases on plastic figures are sometimes warped and won't fit flat into the indents.

The only real advantage of the stands with indents is to hide the stand, because BF figures have ridiculously thick bases. The question is why the bases are so thick. Essex WW2 figures have the most minimal stands I've ever seen (a very thin strip between the feet) and it works fine. So why are BF stands so thick?

You can still buy the old bases direct from Battlefront. I got some recently.

I get them from , link , as I don't use many BF figures .

I use slightly larger sized linoleum titles for basing my 1/72 FOW collection. So, I am the odd one in the FOW gaming world.
