What ranges would everyone suggest for 10mm scale fantasy dwarf miniatures? How much does the size of dwarf miniatures vary from one manufacturer to another? I don't mind mixing miniatures from different companies, but I'd prefer if the dwarves didn't end up being as large if not larger than the average 10mm human, or end up with a bunch of dwarves that are a head or more smaller than the rest. |

Irregular do some nice ones, Pendrakens are also very nice, I don't know how well they would mix with others though as the noses are a little big, Probably the nicest out there are Copplestone Castings, though they are a bit more expensive. There may well be others, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind. Sorry cant help you size comparison wise as mine are all Irregulars. Cheers Roger. |

Oops forgot about Kallistra, they do a 12mm range (so probably too big for you, though the style of the figures is similar to Pendrakens. Cheers again Roger. |

Ours are around 9-10mm overall height, so smaller than the 12m-14mm overall height of our other Fantasy races.

I don't have any of Copplestone's dwarf strips, but if the individual not-Gimli hero figures are any measure, they are indeed shorter than his human figures. His work is generally excellent, though he has a tendency to include more detail than is warranted or easily paintable at this scale. (Really, if it's below the waist or inside the beard area, don't bother; my hands aren't steady enough, my eyes aren't sharp enough, and my paint itself isn't thin enough to get in there and not wind up on everything else. Plus, no one will ever see those details at game table distances.) Other than that quibble, I like ‘em. I have GW's old Warmaster line (excellent, of course) and Bo5A line (ideal, but a bit smaller than the Warmaster stuff— though they tend to mix okay at table distances). Pendraken/Kallistra are much larger in comparison, dwarfing even most 10mm human figures by other companies (no pun intended). I do have their gyrocopter figs because they're a great value, well done, and since "suspended" above the other figures the difference in bulk isn't noticeable, while creating a nice bit of "forced perspective," which fits flying units. That's it for my dwarf collection, but I know Eureka Miniatures makes dwarf figures as well, though I don't know how they compare in size. About a decade back there was a blog— Under the Mountain, I think?— that had some good comparison shots of various 10mm ranges, including dwarfs. Do a ‘net search with those parameters and you should find it. |

In the picture below from left to right you have Games Workshop, Eureka (Chaos Dwarf) and Copplestone. Pendraken are rather bigger.
In this picture it's two Copplestone and two GW.
These are plastic BOFA and smaller than metals above

So Kallistra and Pendraken are "heroic scale" 10mm? Shame, their stuff looks really good. I'll have a look at Copplestone, Irregular, and Eureka. |

Hmm, It seems there isn't much in the way of selection when it comes to 10mm dwarves. Nice miniatures, just not enough of them. Eureka only has one type of regular dwarves, Copplestone only has three kinds of basic infantry. Meh, maybe I should go with 6mm after all. |

How big are Magister Militum 10mm dwarves compared to other lines? They say they've had some scale creep in some of their lines, so does that make them closer to Kallistra and Pendraken? |

Pendraken's range is extensive and the quality of their sculpting is excellent. |

Shadowdragon, what game system are you planning to use? Something mass combat like Warmaster or more skirmish like Dragon Rampant? Sounds like mass combat if considering 6mm. I find that once on the table, all the figures mentioned work fine. Just keep them in separate units/brigades. Just enjoy. We're talking about figures no bigger than my pinky thumbnail. If you want 6mm, then Microworld is you man. 60 figures for $10 USD USD, which fills 3 20mmX40mm stands. link

I have a few packs of Copplestone in stock. Very hard to get from the distributor. They are nice. |

There are a few people who sell 10mm figures to print and maybe some of them do Dwarfs. You could ask for them in the FB group "Warmaster" |

Just ordered a restock of Copplestone. |

I'm planning a couple armies for use with Fantasy Rules from Chipco. In particular I'm looking into ways to make big armies that actually look like big armies. I'm worried 12mm is getting a bit too big and won't allow me to put as many minis onto a base as I'd like. Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be much in the way of selection when it comes to true 10mm and 6mm fantasy miniatures. I guess there just isn't much demand for fantasy minis in those scales. |

Not sure what you are looking for in a range. Are the ones already mentioned are too large scaled? Not enough variety with each range? Microworld's 6mm is pretty comprehensive and scale appropriately dwarf like with his other ranges. If you want really epic, his 3mm ranges is fantastic with elves, orcs and dwarves in-coming soon. Cibos Little Dudes and Excellent miniatures are also nice ranges in 10mm, both comprehensive with very different art styles. There is also Magister Militum, Cromarty Forge and Euerka. We are spoiled for choices! |
