"On Super Bowl Sunday, the United States Air Force offered the first-of-its-kind trifecta flyover, which included a B-1B Lancer from Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, a B-52 Stratofortress from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, and a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.

All three of the Cold War-era bombers took part in the flyover above Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida during the national anthem…"

Reminds me of the old poster on my base: SAC--We deliver.

Hoping that is not a photo from the flyover of the football stadium!

Until the B-21 becomes operational, that is.

Great photo.
That's an awful lot of peace for troubled souls!
BUT…
I recall similar photos of B52s, WAY back..
…and things ain't changed much…

similar photos of B52s

Such carpet-bombing photos are quite common regardless of the platform.

I don't know if it was already mentioned but the flyover for Super Bowl 55 was a B-1, B-2, B-52. And 1+2+52 = 55

Yes but the capability still exists. But smart munitions are generally more accurate, etc.

Russians still practice carpet bombing like its 1944 even with supposedly state of the art multirole jets.

But what do you do when your guided weapons have a CEP of up to 100 metres (aka a miss) due to shonky guidance tactics and technology?

In a shooting war where the enemy has sophisticated air defences, carpet bombing with dumb bombs straight over a target is suicide.

In the future I can see Americans carpet bombing with swarms of drones whilst the Russians still grip on to what worked in the Great Patriotic War.

I'd say that is a good observation …
