"El Batallón en 1812 estaba compuesto por cuatro Compañías: una de Granaderos y tres de Mosqueteros. En la Compañía de Granaderos el primer Pelotón estaba compuesto de Granaderos mientras que el segundo lo estaba de Tiradores.

Cada Compañía tenía tres oficiales, un cadete, siete suboficiales, tres tambores y 141 hombres formados en 50 columnas y 3 filas que ocupaban un frente de unos 90′ al desplegarse en Línea. Los hombres más experimentadas normalmente formaban en la primera fila mientras que la última incluía los de más confianza. Al medio quedaban los reclutas más recientes de dudosa calidad para el combate…"
