Good morning

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it seems Richard Ansell passed away. I read it on Twitter earlier.

A very great loss for his family and the wargaming world.

I have some of his Minden and Fife & Drum figures and am always appreciative of his talent.

Edit – I just posted the announcement and the link to the Two Fat Lardies blog on the "Emperor v Elector" blog.

A sad story. He leaves a legacy of some great figures that many will continue to enjoy .

I have no words… He was one of the most talented sculptors this hobby has ever seen; a true artist. I doubt we will see his like again.

He has left a lasting legacy, and will be remembered through his spectacular sculpts.

Rest In Peace, Woodwose.

Oh no. RIP.
A very talented sculptor and seemed (online, as I sadly never met him) a fun and witty guy.

This is sad news indeed. He was a great guy. The hobby has lost a great contributor but as was said by EB47, his legacy will live on in his sculpts.

RIP Woodwose.

I am going to setup a battle tomorrow with Richard Ansell sculpted miniatures to honor his contributions to this great hobby.

Rest in Peace.

Very sad. I admired his sculpts from afar, not being a 28-30mm gamer, and wholly agreed with his stance on anatomical correctness. It was never my good fortune to make his acquaintance, but my sympathy goes out to all who did, in particular his family. His legacy will survive in thousands of beautiful miniatures, lovingly painted, a tribute to an outstanding talent. RIP
