"Vallejo Model Air paint?" Topic

The store I've been using for Vallejo Model Air paints says a lot of them are backordered. I've seen it elsewhere as well. Does anyone know whether there is an issue with them?

I wanted to match a base color I'd been using, but I can't move forward. I'm going to cover it, so maybe it doesn't matter. But it hadn't occurred to me that I'd have trouble finding again. A quick search showed someone else noticing this on reddit, and the only response was that a lot of people are painting right now, so in demand.

yeah, I'm waiting for my order of Vallejo surface primer gray color. Its been almost two months now. I did receive my black and white primers though

I believe that The Squadron Shop's distribution arm, MMD, imported a lot of Vallejo paints. When they closed down a big hole opened up.

In the UK availability of Vallejo Paints has been impacted by the three issues of COVID ( affecting the production in Spain due to lockdown, BREXIT, causing delays in Imports due to new paperwork and systems and the couriers, who were struggling with backlogs caused by the previous two issues.
The situation is gradually improving. We are due a delivery this week and have another on back order. You can see our current availability here ( we run live stocks)

We are phasing out the model air range in favour of MIG Ammo but will still carry the Vallejo primers in 60ml and 200ml sizes. I hope that this helps.

I have noticed shortages with other brands of paint (craft paint) since the pandemic started.

Certainly in the UK paint manufacturers altered their production lines to switch production to hand sanitiser. The factory that makes CdA, Foundry, Humbrol acrylics et al certainly did. I wonder if the same is true in other countries?
