Hey all, so im looking to start a cold war soviets force for Northag or the like so early to mid 80's just wondering if anyone could point mme in the direction of some good tactics/doctrine info. also id like to know more around force comp, im looking to build a BTR motor rifle company so are there specific units they would work with like recon and arty, what would they be using etc and especially what mark of tank? i have found some stuff but it seems pretty generic and the force lists are very open cheers in advance

A BTR Coy would have no assets such as Arty and Recce. A BTR Bn would have a Mortar Coy, Recce platoon and Anti Tank Platoon (Only BTR Bns had the Anti Tank Platoon BMPs Bns did not). A Regiment Tank, BMP and BTR would have 1 Tk Bn and 3 MR Bns or 3 Tk and 1 MR Bns, with Recce Coy, Engrs, AD, Anti tank and an Arty Bn (2S1 for BMP and Tks and D-30 with BTR) PDF link link Are both good sources, Tally Ho! |
