I've been really hammering away at the playtesting for my new SCW rules "For Whom The Dice Rolls", due out in the next couple of weeks.
There are a load of reports over on the Wargaming for Grown Ups Blog, with lots of eye candy:
link link link link If you want a player perspective, Jon Freitag has been blogging about them at the Palouse Wargames Journal: link link Some of you might find this of interest as all the games have been conducted over Skype or Zoom, so the message is, if you want to game, just get on with it! |

Clever name. No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the dice rolls, It tolls for thee. |

@Bobgnar: The John Donne meditation never ceases to move me when I read it. Hemingway's choice of that last but one line for his SCW novel was a stroke of genius. The war illustrated very clearly how all of us are affected by what happens to our fellow world citizens. If we only care about our own back yards evil will triumph to the loss of all of us. Plus my penchant for funny puns in rule titles felt a bit uncomfortable for a war that still touches emotions in such a raw way. |

I have an interest in this. I have a heap of 15mm SCW stuff and am looking at rules. A sample OB for both sides for a game would be appreciated. This means I could look at my figures and determine if I either a) don't have enough or b) have enough (too many?) Thanks, JohnG Note: My figs are either on 30mm square bases or FOW infantry bases. |

@platypus01au: They were written for 15mm figures on 30mm bases, but I see no reason not to use FOW or Crossfire bases instead. I'm writing a page description of how it all works for the blog. It's not "live" yet, but have a look here and see what you think: link |

Oh, and I should say that if you don't like buying from Amazon, you'll be able to get a download from Wargame Vault. |
