I have a large Front Rank Russian SYW army and want to develop a Ottoman army to oppose them. I am aware of Old Glory, Dixon, and Warfare. Warfare is too expensive except to use command figures and Dixon would be too expensive to ship to the states. That leaves Old Glory and I like their pictures/prices. I know nothing about the Ottomans except I have their Osprey book. Will the Old Glory figures all be appropriate for this project? Thank you very much. Hal

Hal,

All Ottoman ranges would work for this period, except Renaissance style Ottomans. Also, Nizam-i Djedid would not exist. You may want to get a couple resources on the Ottomans to help with your selection. Send me an email and I can make a list of resources.

Warlord Games also produce a nice range of Ottoman Turks in 28mm.

I second Paul's mention of the RSM Ottomans sold by Dayton Painting Consortium.

I third Dayton Painting Consortium.
You can't beat 36 figures for $29 USD!
But I suggest you be careful ordering horses. The "ankles" of the horses are "anatomically" correct, meaning extremely fragile. Order horses with all 4 feet on the ground.

I believe the Dayton figures are true 25mm. If so, I'm not sure if they will mix well with the 28mm Front Rank figures.

The DPC figures are 30mm. No worries about fitting in.
