"On 14th May, 1805 an imperial decree created 107 infantry companies of the reserve in each département (with exception to Seine, which had two), its strength varying according to the departments' size and population, there being six classes.

Companies were grouped by fours into "legions", each of which had a distinctive arrangement of facing colours. Companies also could be distinguished by their buttons, which carried the name of their respective departments. Because the départements supplied the uniforms of their respective companies, considerable variation was inevitable. Some departments gave their companies green or grey coats on occasion…."

no, such title is totally wrong
there were not at all "Légions de la Réserve Départementale"

the author mixed the Légions de Réserve having nothing to do with the Departemental Reserve Companies under the authority of the Gendarmerie
this last one was organized in "Legions" Squadrons Departemental Companies Cantonal brigades,
it didn't mean that the Departemental Reserve Companies sharing the same departement than these Gendarmerie companies formed also "Legions"

the Reserve Departemental Companies are only organized in companies, and sometimes in march battalion in the Pyrénées

They were not Légions de la Réserve but Compagnies de Réserve Départementale, correct.

Confusingly however the companies did wear on their buttons the number of the Légion du Gendarmerie to which their Département was assigned. And all companies thus assigned to a Légion du Gendarmerie also had the same facing colour.

That is the problem because there were «Légions de Réserve» of the Interior in the French Army : 5 Légions raised in 1807,
it is not the first time I see people mixing the Reserve Departemental Companies existing until 1818 with such Légions converted into line regiments in 1809
