"Have I bought a recast?" Topic

I am new un the Page, Hi everybody.

I have recieved 20 dwarf adventurers from an Italian Seller in ebay. The miniatures look too shiny, and too new. They hace "bits" of lead hanging nad falling, as if never touched before.

I let here a link with photos, so maybe somebody can give me an opinión.

The detail is not quite as crisp as it ought to be, so my opinion is yes, a recast.

I'd lean towards recast. The fact that the one casting is slightly smaller than the original casting indicates possible recast to me as does the poor detail and excessive flash.

Any double mould lines?

Look at this way: your money is gone; there is no way to know, for certain, if these are re-casts, so there is no point in throwing them out! Paint them up, and use them. Next time, find a different seller for future purchases. Cheers!

100% recast. Is the company that made the originals still in business? I would contact them if they are.

The worst thing with recasts is that you are unable to sell them, a bit like false money. I got a bunch of GW Imperial Guard years ago that I kept for until I had a reason to use them as a present…

It looked like It had some double mould lines, but they where not very obvious.

The Seller has accepted a refound. He didn't know about that, and he says he is going to investigate it.

Hi have seen this week metal recast of Citadel Chaos champions un Wallapop, second hand spanish app. They looked very good, but again very shiny. I know they where recast becouse the Seller said It clearly in the advert.
