Partially because of Jack I finally got my ARVN ACAV platoon out on the board. Report here:

Enjoy

Partially? Okay, we won't make you say I'm the inspiration for all you do, both inside and outside the wargaming world. But you know. And we all agree how humble your batreps are next to mine, but it's the best your tired, old Air Force ass can do, so the least we can say is ‘thank you' for your subpar efforts.

Now, getting down to the business of the actual batrep, wow, awesome scenario man, I love the concept. It seems the Ruff Puffs really saved your butt, but bad stuff was bound to happen when you established a perimeter around the square and then had your tanks and tracks facing inward. Friggin' Air Force ;) The fight was intense, and I loved each sides' overarching unwillingness to close with the enemy, made for a cool dynamic. I remember reading the ARVN MG team was broken, but I didn't understand what happened to them; they sure didn't make much of an impression, despite seeming to be in a great spot. I can't believe the VC RPG team didn't smoke that tank, but then the tank platoon commander still managed to get himself whacked. Friggin' Lootenits…

That was a great fight, Joe, always glad to see you playing and posting, and hope real life slows down for you here in the very near future. Take care man.

Jack

Joe,
Maybe not up to Marine Corps standards, but pretty good for
an airdale, and even an officer at that!

Great scenario and AAR. Thanks for sharing and may you stay safe
and well in your work. May life slow down for you.

best regards,

Sam

thank you both for your comments. I am relieved it was not down to marine corps standards. : ).
yes Jack it isnt apparent but the guns were all looking outward. I really should have pushed the cordon farther out but would have needed more men and a bigger board. the MMG was the only RP unit that acted as expected as they retreated off the roof and hid in the store to be found by both their NCO and the VC. They surrendered after he was hit. But overall the RP did a very good job.
thanks again to you both!

Indeed ;)

And just messing with ya, Old Man, about the cordon, and I understand perfectly the limitations that come with playing on a small table. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to the next installment!

V/R,
Jack
