This may have been posted before, but I found a news story from 2014 on YouTube of a painter who likely has the biggest Napoleonic army ever.

Got to admire his dedication.

It's when they said that he would need an area the size of a volleyball court to put them all out that I found it to be mind-boggling.

Boy, I have a lot of comments:
Well, they are only 6mm!. If they were 15's or, goodness gracious, 28mm, then I'd be impressed.

So that's how H&R stayed in business…

There's always the "d88mm1940" museum… (I didn't say I didn't like them…)

I remember seeing that video years ago. That's where I got the idea to use an old blue-print cabinet for figure storage.

I've never seen anyone paint while sitting on the floor.

Wow. That was interesting in a lot of ways.

What, 79thPA said, about sitting on the floor and painting as well as the blue-print cabinet drawers for storage.

Well, this hobby does take all kinds…

I rember reading at that time, that he wanted to give the armies away, but no takers. I wonder if he still has them, and what happened?

That's some paint job and I am impressed. And only twenty years I heard. Seen other photos of the collection displayed I think. Looks grand scale in the massed ranks and formations. Not too sure about the floor painting style. For back support?
Makes my puny 25/28mm napoleonic collection at 26,510 painted miniatures small after painting since 1975. Then there are the Ancients, WSS, SYW, Boxer rebellion, collections in 25/28mm equally as large in total count. Add in the 15mm TYW, ECW, and ACW collections. Top off with WWI, WWII, Vietnam in 20mm miniatures. WWII has almost 1,900 vehicles (tanks, armored cars, transport etc… do vehicles count?

Still. Just counting the number 250,000 and growing. Job in its self.

Wow! Very impressive and a very dedicated owner and Napoleonic enthusiast. So when you think you've got too many miniatures and especially unpainted ones that you fear you will never get to paint and base, just view that collection again. It makes me want to buy more. LOL
