I've done an 'out of the pack' review of some of the new Japanese feudal ships from Tumbling Dice on the blog. They're really nice and would look brilliant 'en masse' The range also includes Chinese and Korean ships too.

Those look really great – I have two fleets already, but I can't remember who made them. I'm thinking Knights Miniatures or something like that, but it might be a completely different name (!). But those were tiny, probably 1/3000th.

There was a set of rules in (I think) WI which prompted the purchase. We're probably talking about ~Issue 100, so a long time ago. They were fun, I ought to dig them out again!

If you find them please let me know which issue it was.

These will be handy for use with "at The Height of Battle" when I'm able to release it :)

What will be the basing for your new rules David? I was thinking of basing these models on 30mm x 40mm rectangles or thereabouts.

Just had a look on the Tiny Tin Men blog, and making use of their invaluable Magazine Index I'm going to say that the rules were:

Dwarf Robbers and Turtle Ships by John Paterson, and they were in Miniature Wargames issue 102.

Well-I was right about the issue number (more or less) grin

If I can find time to dig into the paper archive grin I'll probably be able to identify the ship models manufacturer as well.

I might just have that one in the loft… Time for a rummage🤔

Here's the Tumbling Dice store link for these ships, although without any photos.

"At The Height of Battle" should be out after the MT Miniatures 1/1200 range is launched (they will include a special MT edition in hard copy). Hopefully around Easter time.

Do we have any existing rules right now for Japanese fleets vs. Korean fleets?
