Did Jackson have any US Marines at New Orleans in 1814? I know there was a US Navy presence and the British had a Royal Marine presence.

Yes, he had about 50 or so, they were on the flank next to the river.

With the Free Colored militia battalion.

There were 58 Marines from the New Orleans Navy Yard commanded by Major Daniel Carmick, who had commanded the Marine detachment on the USS Constitution during the Quasi-War with France.

Colonel Charles Waterhouse did a painting of the Marines at New Orleans defending their position against the British assault. Major Carmick was wounded in the head by a rocket fragment and died two years later from the effects of the wound.
