I recently discovered this range, but I didn't see their 15mm Fantasy Japan stuff listed on their site. I did fnd a UK supplier that had the odd pack left in stock. Has this range been discontinued? I hope not. The sculpting looks RIGHT up my alley. |

Yes. I found those a couple of days ago and I think the seller has some kind of connection to BVG. Sadly, he doesn't ship to Canada. |

I guess the guy I spoke of above is the sculptor. His eBay username is "P_mann" and I found this on the Battle Valor site: Scuplted by the very talented Philip "Chip" Mann, and available exclusively from Battle Valor Games. |

Yep. Finally figured that out. I was just told BVG ran the Kickstarter for him that was the connection. Confusing, but it all makes sense now. |

I think He has left Battlevalor ( about a year ago?)and from what I understand, he was going to be creating his own company, I haven't seen anything about him since. You may contact Ed at Battlevalor and maybe he can direct you to him. edit Oops, looks like sillypoint found his link. I have a couple of his oriental dragons, they look nice and a pack of most all of his other sculpts, which I havent even looked at. Good to know I can aquire more, if I ever get to painting them. |

Thanks Albus. I've seen quite a few pics of the range, but Martin over at Dragon Frog Games seems to have the best collection of pics of the range in his online shop here: link I don't do Facebook, but was able to see a bit of Miniatures by Mann's FB page and he touts his range at being 18mm. Which is also a new bit info to me. Miniatures by Mann has a FB, Shopify store, blog, Etsy store and sells on ebay, but I couldn't find a contact email anywhere to ask him some questions. |

I measured one I have, and it would be a 18mm Miniature. Personally I like the 18mm sized 15mm. Lots of Fantasy miniatures are 18mm, ie Demonworld, BattleValor(although some are slightly larger, like the orcs), so the Chip Mann mini's fit right in. Im not sure what size other asian miniatures are, for matching, whether they are true 15mm or 18mm. If any one knows which other Samurai mini's are 18mm, I would be interesed in knowing. |

I agree with that Albus. I'm a fan of CP Models 15's sculpted by Whiff Waff because they're chunky 15's, closer to 18mm. As for matching, I'm personally not going to worry too much about it. Chip's range covers pretty much every single element I need for Fantasy Japan so I won't need to mix. :) |
