Berthier is definitely worth a look. It allows you to create customised square grid maps and caters for things like reinforcements, fog of war, supply and much more. I can't wait to use it to create a battlefield generator for my own Ancients system. |

Definitely recommended. A friend and I have played a couple of campaigns using the system: Russo- Japanese War and a fictional 1920s land campaign. |

I am planning to put out a Berthier update sometime in the next 2 weeks. Keep an eye out for it. I'll also submit an update notice to TMP News. |

Can Berthier be played on tables or smartphones? If not, any plans to make that happen? I ask this because it could become the perfect terrain generator for any tabletop game if the two players can duke the campaign aspect out with cellphones whilst at the gaming table. Just a thought. |

Berthier is Windows only I'm afraid. |

Hi Tony Thanks for Berthier – I've had hours a lot of fun using it over the years. I was wondering though if there were any plans in the works to increase the number of waypoints that can be plotted for each unit? Having more waypoints, combined with the Army Plan options, would really create a lot more fog of war when needed. Thanks WW |

WW – no plans to increase waypoints at the moment but I will think about it and how it might be done. Originally the single way point was chosen because way finding was computationally heavy. That was 25 years ago – not so much a problem nowadays. |

Thanks Tony When I said "hours a lot [sic] of fun using it over the years" earlier, I'd meant to type "many hours, a lot, possibly months frankly, of fun using it over the years". Anyway, thanks for responding and I look forward to seeing how Berthier continues to develop. cheers WW (Brian) |
