… leyenda negra que se desató contra Santa Anna El 2 de febrero de 1848 se firmó el Tratado de Guadalupe Hidalgo, por el que México "vendió" la mitad de su territorio a Estados Unidos.

"More than 150 years have passed, but the effects of what happened that day forever changed the history of Mexico. On February 2, 1848, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed, whereby Mexico "sold" half of its territory to the United States.

With this agreement the current states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, as well as part of Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming became part of the United States.

The signing of that treaty also meant the end of the United States' intervention in our country and the end of one of the most painful chapters in the history of Mexico…"
