Looking at that makes me wonder, how much of an elder god is actually an elder god, and how much is other biomass, like symbiotic microorganisms that aid in digestion, parasites, etc.? And that makes me think about giant corporations -- which, let's not kid ourselves, are not that different from Cthulhu or, even more so, Nyarlathotep. How much of a megacorporation is actual employees, and how much is other biomass, like temporary workers doing corporate filings, commuter bus drivers, CPAs and lawyers, etc.? Good-looking miniature, by the way, and yes, I did pass my SAN check, thank you very much. |

Seeing representations of Cthulhu is always a disappointing. It's like the villain in the original version of "IT" turning out to be a giant spider. Still, it's a very nicely painted miniature, and the blending is excellent. |

For some reason, it reminds me of a green budgie my nan used to have?? Good-looking miniature, by the way, and yes, I did FAIL my SAN check, thank you very much ;) |

Congratulations on passing your SAN check, Andy Skinner. Extrabio1947 makes a good point. Cthulhu should be suggested, hinted at, felt, rather than seen. Especially naked from behind. Thinking of Cthulhu led me to the opening lines of Call of Cthulhu: "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents." The problem with computers and databases and artificial intelligence is that they are all too effective at correlating data, while at the same time suffering no ill effects from observing the results of their own correlations. |
