Yet another OOOOH SHINY!!! compilation of "myths" that nobody seriously believes. And debunking them does what, exactly?
Please. Leave those dumb sites alone. They're pointless.

Magellan did not circumnavigate. True. They should have named Elcano, though, who took over and did so.
On a sidenote, one of the survivors was Hans von Aachen (Gunmaster Anes), who hired on for Elcanos next trip and was one of only four survivors of that one, the first man to circumnavigate twice. He died on his third trip, probably already in the Pacific again.

Well, with the dearth of actual education going on in todays schools its no wonder that some of these ridiculous myths survived so long.
